Neill Lochery is a world-renowned source on the modern history of Europe and the Mediterranean Middle East, and is The Catherine Lewis Professor of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Studies at University College London. He has authored a series of critically acclaimed books on World War II, including the international bestseller Lisbon: War in the Shadows of the City of Light, 1939-1945. Over the years, Neill has served as an advisor to a number of political leaders providing expert insight on current affairs of Europe. As well as giving private and public seminars, he often appears on television news in the UK and around the world, and is a regular commentator in the international press, including The Wall Street Journal.
