The Sunshine State – No Appointments and a Tank of Gas, a lecture by author Tim Dorsey presented by the Boca Grande Historical Society

A different perspective on Florida history and landmarks – Tim Dorsey’s lecture promises to be informative, interesting and often amusing. His light approach to a trip around Florida will be of value to Florida History buffs as well as the casually interested. Dorsey moved to Florida at the age of 1 and grew up in a small town about an hour north of Miami. He graduated from Auburn University and has worked as a reporter for The Alabama Journal and the Tampa Tribune. He has published 20 novels with the latest due in January 2018. Titles include Florida Roadkill, Gator A-Go-Go, Coconut Cowboy, Sharkskin Suite and soon-to-be published The Pope of Palm Beach all part of the Serge Storms series. A brief reception will follow the lecture and Dorsey’s books will be available for purchase and signing. Tickets are available at the Historical Society website or the History Center office.
