Dear Community Supporter,

This is your VIP invitation to the Boca Grande Scramble Golf Tournament scheduled for Monday, October 13th, 2014 at The Gasparilla Golf Club.

As in past years, this is the major fundraiser for the Boca Grande Chamber Scholarship Fund. Your involvement in this “Grande” event will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Charlotte Harbor while golfing on this spectacular Pete Dye designed course, followed with an awards party, featuring culinary delights from Boca Grande’s talented chefs, and prizes too numerous to mention. The best reward, however, is the gratification in knowing that you have helped in the advancement of so many deserving young men and women.

Every year the tournament proceeds are deposited in a separate fund specifically for the purpose of awarding educational scholarships to area students who have ties to Boca Grande. These are students and parents who live, work, and/or volunteer in the community.

This year the Boca Grande Chamber Scholarship Committee decided that they would award one applicant a special award for going above and beyond the standard requirements of eligibility for a $500 or $1000 scholarship. After reviewing the applications and having the experience of working with all of the talented students who volunteered for the Chamber this year one stood out. Jessica Lown will be attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University for aerospace engineering and her grades are exceptional as was her attention to detail, exemplary professionalism and overall assistance to the Boca Grande Area Chamber during her hours of community service. Jessica was selected for a one-time $10,000 scholarship award toward her education for her service to our community. We are proud to support every single eligible scholarship recipient and we are delighted to have this opportunity to recognize one of the special students like Jessica. Our annual scholarship golf scramble scheduled this year for October 13th at the Gasparilla Golf Club and all of the players from our community who participate are really the reason we are able to give back. We wish all of our scholarship recipients a fantastic school year and we look forward to hearing all of the amazing things Jessica will be able to accomplish knowing our community is behind her and each and every one of our students.

We will be looking to accommodate the first 80 entrants.
