Gasparilla Island Kids Classic Interactive Art Festival

The 1st Annual Gasparilla Island Kids Classic Interactive Art Festival will be on Saturday, June 4th from 10 am – 4 pm on the grounds of the Boca Grande Lighthouse. Sponsored by Englewood Bank & Trust, ten local artists will be scattered around the Lighthouse property displaying their artwork and creating original art with the kids. Each artist will have an area set up for the children to work on their own individual art projects with one-on-one guidance. The kids will create beautiful art to take home with them in every booth. There will be a mural painting wall as well as a music wall where the kids can engage in their own kitchen band. Among the artists involved are painter, Carroll Swayze, who will do Gyotaku (Japanese fish prints); glassblower, Rich Fizer will make glass magnets; Sculptor Al DeLaVega will make copper wind chimes; potter,Rick Hicks will make pinch pots, Mel Landon will do coconut postcards and Maria Bone will be making greeting cards The festival is free to the public and it will be a fun addition to the fishing activities happening in the Pass on the afternoon tide.
