Wading Adventures
Saturday, May 20, 2023Time 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Let’s explore Charlotte Harbor Estuary. Since BIPS was founded in 1989, marine pollution has been a focus of our mission. Wading Adventures is an educational experience that explores sources and impacts of pollution to the local ecosystem and inspires stewardship to preserve and protect local estuaries and vital nurseries. The adventure includes wading and gathering marine life to examine through magnified viewers, before they are gently returned to their habitat.
This program is open to people ages 5 to 99. We will wade in shallow water up to waist high. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please remember water shoes, sunscreen, and a hat. We will meet at the Picnic Pavilion in Gasparilla Island State Park behind Port Boca Grande Lighthouse.
Wading Adventures is free to BIPS Members who enter coupon code BIPS Member. Program cost is $10 for 12 and over and $5 for kids ages 5-11.
