Suzanne Folds McCullagh: “A Powerful Presence: Pure Drawings in Chicago’s Gray Collection”

Dr. Suzanne Folds McCullagh is one of the most highly respected figures in the art world today. Her specialty is French and Italian Renaissance and Baroque prints and drawings. She was previously Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Art Institute of Chicago, where she retired after forty years. She is now the Director of the Gray Collection Trust in Chicago where she is currently preparing an extensive catalog and exhibition.
Dr. McCullagh will speak of the remarkable collection of drawings which she once described as “penetrating increasingly back in time and reaching across seven centuries of works on paper”.
She received her Bachelor of Arts from Smith College and both her Master of Arts and her PhD from Harvard.
