2020 marks the 48th season of the Sarasota Institute of Lifetime Learning (SILL), a non-profit organization guided by an all-volunteer board that provides lectures on issues of major domestic or global importance. From China and Russia to Europe and the Middle East, speakers well versed in these areas will present their perspectives on key issues. Friends of Boca Grande will simulcast eleven of these thought-provoking discussions.

Climate Change and Its Impact | Terry Root
The changing climate is changing…well, everything. Back-to-back 100-year floods, extended droughts, and the polar vortex are all connected to the disruption of our climate due to greenhouse gas emissions. Dr. Terry Root will discuss the science behind our changing climate and how plants and animals are being affected. She will also address Florida’s vulnerabilities and necessary remedies.
