Keynote Speaker: Dr. Hildegard Messenbaugh, Founder and Medical Director of Third Way Center, Denver, Colorado
Dr. Hildegard Messenbaugh’s life is one of extraordinary professional achievement. A concentration camp survivor, Messenbaugh was driven by her desire to achieve personal justice for the trauma she and her family endured during World War II. After the war, she moved to the United States from Austria and founded Third Way Center, a nonprofit organization and treatment center for adolescents in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Messenbaugh’s highly successful work has empowered people to build better lives, to find hope and healing, and to become productive members of their communities. She has been coming to Boca Grande since 2000 and will be sharing about her life’s work as it relates to the war, her personal journey, those at the Third Way Center, and the importance of having roots in your life.
