Putin, Trump, and Clinton: What Happened and What’s Next
Wednesday, April 11, 2018 | 4:00pm
Dr. Robert Barylski will present a realist assessment of Putin’s drive to defend Russian national interests and our responses to Putin. He will answer questions such as: Was Putin’s meddling in American presidential elections driven by resentment towards Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration or part of a deliberate scheme to divide and weaken the United States and the Western alliance? Did the Cold War’s end allow toxic partisanship to flourish in the US and the Western alliance? Does Putin need better relations with the West to meet his goals in Ukraine and Syria? What does his Eurasian strategy imply about the relative importance of Europe, China, and the United States to Russia’s long term needs? What do Americans need to know about Russia’s substantial and growing Muslim population and Islamic factors in Russian domestic and foreign policy?
