Take a Step Back in Time – Travel with the Boca Grande Historical Society to Manatee Village Historical Park and Cortez Village

Travel back in time to experience pioneer life in early Southwest Florida at Manatee Village Historical Park. Explore historic buildings including Wiggins General Store, Fogarty Boatworks, a Courthouse, Church, One-Room Schoolhouse, Settler’s Home, Old Steam Engine, 1850’s Burying Grounds and replicas of typical Florida barn, blacksmith shop, turpentine still and smokehouse. Other museum exhibits as well. Then travel on to Cortez Village for lunch at the Swordfish Grill and Tiki Bar, entertainment by the Main Hatch Motley Sea Shanty Singers and a visit to one of the last remaining working fishing villages on Florida’s southwest coast. The docent led tour includes maritime history from pre-Columbian settlements to the modern era. Bus transportation (coach includes bathroom) from the History Center in Boca Grande as well tours, snacks and lunch. Price is all-inclusive.
